Duro-Sense thermocouple/RTD terminal blocks are available in a wide variety of configurations. The following page illustrates the most popular styles and configurations. Should your requirements call for a style or configuration that is not listed, contact the factory to discuss how we can best meet your need.
Duro-Sense standard terminal block material is Al2O3 95%. This is stronger than ceramic and resistant to cracking and flaking. Al2O3 has a high melting point, high mechanical strength and due to the relatively large coefficient of thermal expansion, thermal shock resistance is reduced.
They fit most styles of heads. The D-341 & D-342 series of terminal blocks are suitable for 8 AWG to 24 AWG wires. The D-343 series of blocks are suitable for 14 AWG to 24 AWG wires.
Duro-Sense mini terminal block material is Steatite. Steatite has high electrical resistance at elevated temperatures, good mechanical strength and a very low dielectric loss factor. Such properties make it ideal for high frequency, low loss, and high voltage insulation. They are designed specifically for use with the mini cast aluminum head. The mini terminal block is suitable for 20 AWG to 30AWG wires.
Duro-Sense terminal barrier strip material is glass-filled Nylon. These terminal strips are not rated for high temperature use, like the standard and mini blocks. They are rated at 350°F-400°F max. The unique aspect of the terminal barrier strips is that the terminals are compensated thermocouple alloy. They are available in Type J, K, T, E, N and uncompensated copper. The terminal barrier strips are suitable for 14 AWG to 24 AWG wires.
